SENSORY FRIENDLY FILMS at AMC Vestal Townes Square Theater

The Sensory Friendly Films program provides a special opportunity for families to enjoy their favorite films in a safe and accepting environment. The auditoriums dedicated to the program have their lights up, the sound turned down, and audience members are welcome to get up, dance, walk, sing, leave the theater and return as needed. Families are allowed to bring their own food (no glass bottle please). The theater's popcorn is gluten free and the concession stand will be open. The idea for the program began with a request from a parent of a child with autism for a special screening for children who have sensory inteegration issues or who are on the autism spectrum. More than 300 children and parents attended that first screening in Columbia MD, and the trend is spreading. Locally we had 140 people attend the showing of "Up" in June! THe movies begin at 10am, door open at 9:30am. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the theater the week prior to the showing and all tickets are $4.50 The next 2 movies that are coming to the Saturday morning sensory friendly format are:

The Tooth Fairy, February 6, and How to Train Your Dragon, March 27
