Who is SAIL?
SAIL is a group of people who meet to discuss and identify real, local issues that affect people with disabilities. We are Advocates. We are people who are affected by disability issues through personal experience, family members, or friends.

What do we do?
Our mission is to educate legislators and fellow citizens about the issues that affect people with disabilities and to advocate for change. Everyone has abilities that are valuable to advocacy and teamwork is something we strive to achieve! Some projects may include making phone calls to legislators, going to rallies, contacting the media, writing letters, sending emails, and much much more!

How can I get involved?

You can choose to give as much or as little time as you want! We typically meet once a month. Click here to find out when our next meeting will be.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, or you would like to be added to our mailing list so you can participate via e-mail or telephone, please fill out the following form. If you would like more information, you can write me at advocate@stic-cil.org, or call (607) 724-2111 (voice/TTY) and ask for Adam.

Check here if you are interested in participating in Advocacy Events via E-mail.
(This may include sending simple emails to people in politics such as senators, representatives, the governor, etc. about issues. I promise that I will make them very easy to do.)

Check here if you are interested in coming to SAIL meetings once per month to discuss important issues and make change.

Check here if you are interested in participating in Advocacy Events that involve local rallies and/or talking with the press.

Check here if you would like to volunteer your time to visit with people who have just gotten out of nursing homes and help them develop social connections in the community.
(For example, you like to go to church, would you mind inviting along someone else to join? Or, you go to Bingo on Tuesday nights, would you mind inviting someone new to meet up with you?)
