INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS
The Independent Living Skills (ILS) Program at the Southern Tier Independence Center (STIC) in Binghamton, New York, empowers individuals with disabilities to achieve greater self-reliance and fully participate in their communities. Rooted in the philosophy of consumer control and self-determination, this program offers personalized training tailored to each participant’s unique needs and goals. Designed for people of all ages with physical, mental, or developmental disabilities, the ILS Program provides practical instruction in essential life skills, such as budgeting, meal preparation, personal care, navigating public transportation, and self-advocacy.
